Koinonia (Welcome & Care) Group This group started with a "think tank" meeting on 23rd April 2005. Then Fr Peter Quin SJ called the Welcoming Community Group together for the first meeting on Saturday 21st May 2005 seeking to establish a 'welcoming ministry'.

Subsequently the name KOINONIA was adopted, which is a Greek word with a rich variety of meanings, such as Community, Solidarity, Eucharist, Fellowship and journeying in Faith together. It involves reaching out to all peoples and building community.

Banner & Quilting Group Fr Chris Jenkins SJ challenged a small group to make patchwork banners for our church, and what began in a small way has grown into banners and stoles for all the liturgical seasons. Fr Peter Quin SJ has given the group more challenges and continues to come up with amazing suggestions. The group has also made banners for the Jesuit Mission in Cambodia.

The Banner Group meet about every six weeks at the Parish Centre.
St Ignatius Peace Through Justice Group

The St. Ignatius Peace through Justice Group was founded in 2008 and aims at realising the kingdom of God by promoting peace through working for justice and right relationships. Our efforts are based on the Holy Spirit, the great Catholic social justice tradition, and current readings.

Because the group is relatively small it focuses on raising awareness of justice issues (talks / special Sundays, items in  the weekly  newsletter) and promotes eco-justice through its gardening/green initiatives, mainly at the Holy Spirit Church grounds (Auchenflower). It also supports the Foundation of Women in Agricultural Development (FOWIAD) in PNG and at times raises funds for special causes (e.g. water pumps in Myanmar and India through the Jesuit Mission).

Annual regular events are the highlighting of ATSIC, Refugee  and Social Justice  Sundays and the promotion of fair trade before Christmas .

The group meets every fourth Monday of the month at 7.30pm in the Horstmann Room (of the Parish Office).

New members are always welcome.

Please refer to Parish Newsletter for upcoming meetings / events.

Contact persons: Karin Chai or Margaret Scally.

St Ignatius Choir Would you like to help the singing group that lead the singing at Mass at St. Ignatius Church?

Join a dedicated group of musicians and singers, led by Anthony Young, to provide musical accompaniment to the Saturday Vigil Mass (6pm) and/or Sunday 5pm Mass at St Ignatius Church each weekend.

The only commitment is to come 45 minutes before mass to train voices, rehearse the music and blend the sound. In return you will receive professional conducting and voice training in the rehearsals and know that you are worshipping God by helping the congregation join in singing.

Christian Life Community (CLC) Several years ago, Fr John Drury SJ gathered people together and inspired them to follow a programme of Ignatian Spirituality.

The inspiration lingers on and the members of the CLC are committed to daily prayer and are happy to share moments of consolation or desolation as they walk along their spiritual journey. A spiritual diary is a very important companion for them. There is a strong pastoral flavour to this group as each member tries, in a practical way, to live out life as a parishioner at St Ignatius.

Under the gentle leadership of Clive Hamlin the CLC group meet each fortnight at Fabre Centre Ignatian Spirituality, Bardon.
